Outdoor Charm at Chukkar Farm

When I first spoke to Anna & Brant about their wedding plans, they painted a picture of a beautiful outdoor scene with a relaxed atmosphere that was just a ton of fun.  When the big day came, it was clear that they couldn’t have done a better job of achieving that vision!

The rustic and casual Chukkar Farm Polo Club was decked out with colorful blooms in mason jars, an array of homemade cakes, a plentiful buffet and lots of charming DIY touches.  A friend of the couple even provided kegs of home-brewed beer for the guests to enjoy!  Everyone enjoyed a rockin’-good dance party with the band, and Anna and Brant had the laid-back, super-fun time with friends and family that they always wanted.

Anna’s thoughts on The Highballs:
“We were beyond impressed with The Highballs and their ability to transform our reception into one big party! The music was phenomenal and we were so grateful for the time they took to make our reception just perfect. They were so easy and delightful to work with and we are wishing we could throw another party so we could hire them again. They were truly the highlight of the reception and we still have friends raving about the music!”

Good Times Roll at Goodwin Manor

There is a little rule of thumb we always pass along to our wedding couples…when the bride has a good time, everybody has a good time.  It seems simple enough, but the couple sets the tone for the party and if you want your guests to have a ball, you should plan to do the same.  I can think of no better example of this principle in action than Margie & Drew’s wedding.  We knew it was going to be a legendary evening when the bride and groom started dancing at sound check… hours before the ceremony began.  Once the reception was underway, the guests followed suit and the floor stayed packed all night!

Margie’s thoughts on The Highballs:

“Are there words that could truly express just how much we think of The Highballs!? It was four years ago that I first saw them and at some point in the evening I text Drew and said, “if we ever get married can we PLEASE have this band at our wedding?” Booking them was the very first thing we did in the planning process and on September 24th, 2011 that text came to fruition and we could not have been happier! From word “go” Meredith was such a pleasure to work with and during our consultations whether via phone, email, or face to face, she was incredibly attentive, professional and yet I felt like she was a friend. There was never a doubt in my mind that everything we discussed would be delivered and boy did they ever! If we’ve heard once we’ve heard it a thousand times since that they were by far the most amazing band our guests had ever seen or heard.  The dance floor never cleared the entire night and in the days following my knees were killing me due to the fact that I literally bounced from place to place around the tent. Every song was as good as the one before. Hands down THE BEST addition to our day. Already scheming the next big event where we can hire them again!”

Forever Yours, Faithfully

Think you can’t have an elegant and tasteful wedding reception that’s also a serious throwdown?  Think again!

Andrea & Hal celebrated their vows at The Thompson House & Gardens, a historic event facility just outside of Athens, GA.  The house and grounds are steeped in Southern charm and vintage beauty, and the deep purple and peacock jewel toned arrangements and decor brought a new level of style and romance to the already gorgeous venue.

There is one word that comes to mind when I think of this wedding…STUNNING.  From the bride, to the flowers, to the setting – all stunning.  Even the food was stunningly yummy!  And we had a heck of a dance party, too.

Andrea’s thoughts on The Highballs:

“The band was amazing and we continue to get compliments and rave reviews about their performance from our guests.  If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Meredith was reliable, responsive, honest, very professional and really wanted the best for us on our wedding day. The Highballs went above and beyond to make our wedding celebration a great success, and it really showed.  Everyone danced all night long and had a great time!

The Ultimate Autumn Wedding

Fall is one of the most popular wedding seasons in Georgia and if you don’t already know why, it’s all right here.  Morgan and William were married in an outdoor ceremony at The Georgia Club on the most beautiful day imaginable…the weather was divine, the trees were at peak color and the wedding details complimented perfectly.  From the red bridesmaids dresses to the seasonal arrangements, everything set the tone for the ultimate autumn wedding.  The reception was an absolute blast…amazing food, yummy cakes and a serious dance party with the band.  It was an amazing night, and this happy couple could not be more deserving.

Morgan’s thoughts on The Highballs:

“I CANNOT rave enough about The Highballs!!!  As a former event planner, I was a pretty hands-on bride. Working out the details with the band could easily have been a very stressful ordeal since the band sets the tone for and steers the reception. With The Highballs, though, it ended up being completely enjoyable and one of my favorite parts of the planning! They were were so responsive and easy to get in touch with.  Meredith was thorough and thoughtful about every aspect of the planning, and it was a huge weight off my shoulders because I knew that the reception would be in good hands.  The Highballs’ performance at our reception was perfect!!! Guests young and old keep telling me, my husband, and our parents how much they loved the band.  In sum, my wedding turned out perfectly, and I had some wonderful vendors, but I have to say that hiring The Highballs was the second-best wedding decision I made … first-best being, of course, saying yes to the groom! :) ”

Ellen & Trevor Tie the Knot
Twist, Shout and Rock Out!

What an incredible night we had with Trevor and Ellen!  After a romantic ceremony on a perfectly gorgeous day, the couple and their guests were ready for a serious party…and that’s just what they got.  From the first dance to the last, the guests were smiling from ear to ear.  Trevor and his brother Alec, both musicians, even joined us on stage to sing a rousing rendition of “Twist & Shout” and brought down the house!  You can see them in action in the photos below from the talented Courtney Goldman, who captured the evening brilliantly.  Be sure to check out the bride and groom at Sanford Stadium, one of the most stunning bridal bouquets EVER, and the priceless look on Trevor’s face when he sees Ellen for the first time.  These two could not be more in love!

Trevor’s thoughts on The Highballs:

“I really can’t say enough good things about The Highballs! They are the perfect mix of fun and professional, which is exactly what you need for a big event like a wedding. They put on a constant high-energy show for our guests that kept the dance floor PACKED all night. You would have thought we were at a concert at times! At the same time, they always showed the highest standards of professionalism and were EXTREMELY well rehearsed (I say this as a fellow musician who would be able to tell if that were not the case). They are all top notch musicians with a very tight collective sound that is highlighted my Meredith’s vocals. You would have thought Etta James was in the room singing At Last for our first dance!  I highly recommend this group for your event, and I can promise you will not be disappointed!”

Beth & Chris Get Married!
Dancing with Dinosaurs

Fernbank has to be one of the coolest venues we’ve had the pleasure to play, and it takes a super cool couple like Beth and Chris to pick such a great location for their wedding and celebration.  We knew it was meant to be that we work with Beth, because just after she and Chris decided to work with us, she realized that we (Bryan & Meredith) now live just two houses away from a house where she grew up years ago.  Small world!

Their celebration was filled with gorgeous details, as you can see from the photos below, but the dinosaurs were definitely the centerpiece.  Thanks to McGinnis Leathers for providing us with the images from the occasion.
