The Ultimate Autumn Wedding

Fall is one of the most popular wedding seasons in Georgia and if you don’t already know why, it’s all right here.  Morgan and William were married in an outdoor ceremony at The Georgia Club on the most beautiful day imaginable…the weather was divine, the trees were at peak color and the wedding details complimented perfectly.  From the red bridesmaids dresses to the seasonal arrangements, everything set the tone for the ultimate autumn wedding.  The reception was an absolute blast…amazing food, yummy cakes and a serious dance party with the band.  It was an amazing night, and this happy couple could not be more deserving.

Morgan’s thoughts on The Highballs:

“I CANNOT rave enough about The Highballs!!!  As a former event planner, I was a pretty hands-on bride. Working out the details with the band could easily have been a very stressful ordeal since the band sets the tone for and steers the reception. With The Highballs, though, it ended up being completely enjoyable and one of my favorite parts of the planning! They were were so responsive and easy to get in touch with.  Meredith was thorough and thoughtful about every aspect of the planning, and it was a huge weight off my shoulders because I knew that the reception would be in good hands.  The Highballs’ performance at our reception was perfect!!! Guests young and old keep telling me, my husband, and our parents how much they loved the band.  In sum, my wedding turned out perfectly, and I had some wonderful vendors, but I have to say that hiring The Highballs was the second-best wedding decision I made … first-best being, of course, saying yes to the groom! :) ”

Ellen & Trevor Tie the Knot
Twist, Shout and Rock Out!

What an incredible night we had with Trevor and Ellen!  After a romantic ceremony on a perfectly gorgeous day, the couple and their guests were ready for a serious party…and that’s just what they got.  From the first dance to the last, the guests were smiling from ear to ear.  Trevor and his brother Alec, both musicians, even joined us on stage to sing a rousing rendition of “Twist & Shout” and brought down the house!  You can see them in action in the photos below from the talented Courtney Goldman, who captured the evening brilliantly.  Be sure to check out the bride and groom at Sanford Stadium, one of the most stunning bridal bouquets EVER, and the priceless look on Trevor’s face when he sees Ellen for the first time.  These two could not be more in love!

Trevor’s thoughts on The Highballs:

“I really can’t say enough good things about The Highballs! They are the perfect mix of fun and professional, which is exactly what you need for a big event like a wedding. They put on a constant high-energy show for our guests that kept the dance floor PACKED all night. You would have thought we were at a concert at times! At the same time, they always showed the highest standards of professionalism and were EXTREMELY well rehearsed (I say this as a fellow musician who would be able to tell if that were not the case). They are all top notch musicians with a very tight collective sound that is highlighted my Meredith’s vocals. You would have thought Etta James was in the room singing At Last for our first dance!  I highly recommend this group for your event, and I can promise you will not be disappointed!”

Beth & Chris Get Married!
Dancing with Dinosaurs

Fernbank has to be one of the coolest venues we’ve had the pleasure to play, and it takes a super cool couple like Beth and Chris to pick such a great location for their wedding and celebration.  We knew it was meant to be that we work with Beth, because just after she and Chris decided to work with us, she realized that we (Bryan & Meredith) now live just two houses away from a house where she grew up years ago.  Small world!

Their celebration was filled with gorgeous details, as you can see from the photos below, but the dinosaurs were definitely the centerpiece.  Thanks to McGinnis Leathers for providing us with the images from the occasion.

Cassi & Matt’s Big Day
A Celebration Fit for Kings

After a ceremony at the charming Log Cabin Church in Vinings, the newly wedded Mr. & Mrs. King and their guests headed to the historic Primrose Cottage in Roswell to celebrate the occasion.

Sometimes you can just tell it is going to be a really, really standout night.  From the moment Cassi & Matt’s guests arrived at the reception, there was an electricity in the air.  These folks were FUN. Everyone was so incredibly friendly, truly happy to be there, and ready to have a great time. :)

And a great time it was!   A gorgeous location, a decadent meal and a throwdown ’80s dance party with the band.  What more could you ask for?  Cassi & Matt and a few friends even came out to Athens to join us for a live Highballs show the day they got back from their honeymoon.  We were so honored for them to keep their celebration rolling with us…the Kings RULE!

Erika & Tyler’s Scenic Celebration
A Wedding Retreat at Chota Falls

Erika and Tyler were married at Chota Falls, a hidden gem in the mountains of North Georgia.  Why had we never heard of this incredible venue?!  The views and scenery are breathtaking and the facility is top-notch.  Excellent food, service and they even did the flowers…gorgeous!

The couple were married outdoors in front of a waterfall that sits adjacent to one of the many villas on the property.   The reception was in the largest of the villas, which features tons of natural light from the dozens of windows, high ceilings and gorgeous wood throughout.   Erika and Tyler were a joy to work with and the guests had a great time getting down with the band…even some of the wait staff shared a dance or two. :)

Jessica & Jesse’s Wedding – Peacocks and a Puppydog

What a fun and fabulous Sunday wedding at The Foundry Park Inn & Spa!  Jesse & Jessica put on an incredible celebration with tons of personality and charm.  Peacock feathers were a featured element throughout the decor, from the gorgeous arrangements from European Floral Design to the extraordinary painted wedding cake.  Their dog, “Tater”,  was an impressive ringbearer, but was unfortunately too tired to join us for the dance party.  The rest of the guests had a great time dancing the night away to tons of ’80s (Jesse’s Girl, of course!) and some fun and funky classics.   Image Studios was on hand to capture the evening on video (preview below), and the talented photographers at Zoomworks kindly provided us with these incredible photos from the celebration.

Kalen & William’s Athens Wedding – Classic Southern Charm

We had so much fun celebrating with Kalen & William and their guests at their Athens Country Club wedding reception!   The couple’s ceremony took place at the historic Taylor-Grady House and they planned an exceptional day for their family and friends.  From the stunning and intricate cake design to the local wine selections (the bride’s favorite), the lavish party was chock-full of classic and personal touches.  Big thanks to Brandelyn Lee Photography for these incredible photos of the good times!
