Just got these beautiful photos from Shari Zellers Photography of a wedding we played a few months back for Julie & Jon. The ceremony and reception took place at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, a magnificent historic event venue in Atlanta. Family and friends delighted in amazing food from Bold American Catering and danced the night away with The Highballs.
Jenn & Matt were married at The Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta on a lovely June Saturday. The ceremony took place in the majestic Imperial Ballroom, followed by a lavish reception in the stunning Georgian Ballroom. This incredible party featured catering by Affairs to Remember and was coordinated by Heather Lakes of Ashley Baber Weddings. The Highballs performed Rod Stewart’s “You’re in My Heart” for the first dance at the special request of the newlyweds. The dance floor spilled over all night long as the crowd grooved to the band’s renditions of Matt & Jenn’s favorite retro tunes from the 70s & 80s. Amy & Marco held a fabulous June wedding reception at the Old Courthouse on the Square in downtown Decatur, GA. The Highballs played a set of jazz favorites during the cocktail hour while the guests enjoyed their drinks and fine hors d’oeuvres from Affairs to Remember caterers. When the couple arrived, they kicked off the evening with their first dance to “Sweethearts Together” by The Rolling Stones. A spectacular night of fun and dancing followed as the band rocked an array of Amy & Marco’s favorite songs. From The Four Tops to Bon Jovi, the crowd packed the floor all night to the sounds of upbeat Motown, ’80s and Rock & Roll. Pack up the lawn chairs and picnic baskets and come out to Ashford Manor in Watkinsville on Monday 6/22 for a LIVE ‘70s & ’80s-retro show from The Highballs. Gates open at 5:30, Rachel O’Neal opens and The Highballs play from 7:00-9:00. Plan to come early and get a good spot. The outdoor show is weather-permitting, so keep your fingers crossed for a nice, dry evening. BYOB, blankets, lawn chairs, coolers…even the kids! Brittainy & Ryan celebrated their wedding with a reception at Marswood Hall in Watkinsville, after a ceremony at a nearby church. They chose “Have I Told You Lately…” for their first dance and The Highballs kept the guests on the dance floor with some of the couple’s favorites from the 70s, 80s and beyond. And here’s a fun wedding trend… in addition to their wedding photographer, Brittainy & Ryan brought in a photo booth from Party Booths to capture some fun shots of family & friends. Even the band got in on the action!
Aimee & Andrew said their vows in a beautiful outdoor ceremony last Saturday in Watkinsville, GA, just outside of Athens. The ceremony and reception were both held on the grounds of the stunning Ashford Manor Bed & Breakfast, an ideal spot for an outdoor wedding in North Georgia. Classic City Chef prepared a delicious feast which featured mini crab cakes, chicken salad pastry shells and BBQ sandwiches, to name a few. The edibles were accompanied by a selection of wine & Sweetwater beer, a local Atlanta favorite. Wedding coordinator Jennifer Fulford of Consultants Unlimited made sure everything went off without a hitch and was a joy to work with. The Highballs played “Crazy Love” by Van Morrison for the happy couple’s first dance, and followed that with a live set featuring all their favorites. A custom mix of classic rock, funk, 70s, 80s and (at their request) lots of “Journey” created the perfect soundtrack for a fun evening of dancing under the stars. From the first time we met Aimee & Andrew back in July, we knew they were a great couple destined for a fun-filled, fantastic celebration! Stay tuned for pics in the coming weeks.
Just got some great shots back from Shannah Montogomery of Zoomworks! Mary Alice and Marc were married on Valentine’s Day (2.14.09) at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia. The couple’s reception took place in the Conservatory, which was beautifully decorated with the expert help of Gardenia Floral Design. The Highballs played a set of classic standards during the cocktail hour, which was followed by an evening of upbeat dance music and 70s & 80s classics. The crowd’s enthusiasm never waned and the dance floor stayed packed until the last note!
